The wait is finally over, Final Fantasy VII Remake is here. Once again we get
to see our old friends Cloud, Barret, Aerith, and Tifa as well as a few others in glorious
HD. Final Fantasy VII Remake isn’t exactly the same story we all know and love with a fresh coat of paint, it’s more so a retelling of a familiar story with a few twist. That being said the story is still wonderful in it’s own way. The true part of the game is the flow combat, gone is the way of turn based combat in favor of a more action oriented kind of experience, however the is a classic option in the difficultly setting that will give you more of a pseudo turn based experience. The game gets my high praise in my regards to the weapon upgrade system and the weapon proficiency system. The weapon upgrade system does a bit more from the basic damage upgrade instead the menu opens up into a galaxy like structure with upgrades centered around cores from there your upgrades are `set out in front of you and can vary from magic damage boost, HP & MP bonuses, extra materia slots, and yes the tried and true damage upgrade with them are varying from character to character. Now the proficiency system this is more geared towards your weapon skills the more you use the said skills the more the proficiency meter builds and when that meter fills up you can now have access to the ability regardless of you having the weapon equipped or not, it’s almost similar to the weapon system in dissidia opera omnia. The only gripe I have with the current system is that while you have smooth controls, along with stellar visuals and particle effects, the camera tends to fight with you as you try to dodge or block an incoming attack or whenever you try to switch t argets, which becomes a problem more so in closed tight spaces. Other than that the overall experience of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a memorable one that makes you crave more .I can only hope square enix can somehow fix the camera issues in later additions of the ff7 remake story.
