The homie Shepherd called to ask me a question about connecting two wired controllers to his XBOX One.
CAN YOU PLAY XBOX ONE WITH TWO WIRED CONTROLLERS?
The answer is YES! You are able to use two WIRED controllers with your XBOX One.
In researching this topic online, the first few hits do not address the question directly.
Because of this, I found it necessary to answer the question straight away.
👏🏾You. 👏🏾Are. 👏🏾Welcome.
How many wired controllers can connect to an Xbox One?
According to the folks on this Quora thread, the XBOX One is capable of supporting up to 8 controllers.
Grain-of-salt-notes: (the user that started this thread seemed to have thrown up text with limited proof reading)
Then I think, “why am I not checking the official XBOX One website for this information??”
It’s because I know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING..😎
RELEVANT SOURCE HELP
XBOX.com gets typed into my browser search field.
My fingers continue to type in “How many wired controllers can connect to xbox one”, with NO question mark included.
The first hit reads, “DID YOU MEAN? How to connect a wireless XBOX One controller to my console?…”
No, that isn’t what I meant.
Alas, hope is not lost.
While reading on to find other relevant articles on the site, I came across an article titled, Connect a controller to your Xbox 360
MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF CONTROLLERS
In this article, it appears that “… You can connect up to four controllers. …”
It also doesn’t seem to matter if the controllers are wired or wireless.
Since I don’t own an XBOX One, I am not even able to troubleshoot this issue for myself.
TURNS OUT…
After my brief research, I hit Shepherd back with, “I’m sure that you can use two wired controllers.”
His response, “Yeah. It took a minute for the other controller to be recognized by the console.”
Welp, now we all know!
